Out here, the view is half the reason you bought the place. Rolling hills, live oaks, a sunset over the next ridge. A good deck lets you actually enjoy it: morning coffee before the heat sets in, an evening with friends once it cools off, a spot for the grill that isn't on the dirt.
We build and repair decks and outdoor living spaces across Gillespie and Kerr County.
We deliver exceptional results in everything we do, ensuring your satisfaction at every step.
Our experienced team brings skill and passion to every project, no matter the size.
Proven outcomes that speak for themselves and make a meaningful difference for your business.
We'll talk through the decking options with you and give you an honest picture of how each one holds up to Texas sun and heat.

We start on site. Hill Country lots are rarely flat, and the ground is often more limestone than soil. During the free walkthrough, we look at the slope, the drainage, and where the sun hits in the afternoon. All of that affects how the deck should be laid out and supported.
Then a plan and a quote. Size, shape, materials, stairs, railings, and any shade structure, all spelled out in your quote. We handle the permits, and if your HOA needs to approve the plans, we'll talk about that up front.
Then we build from the ground up. Solid footings, a square frame, and careful finish work.
Finally, we clean up. You get a finished deck and a yard without scrap lumber in it.

A deck here has to handle long, hot summers, sudden storms, and ground that likes to shift. We've been building in Fredericksburg since 2018, and Jeremy has been in the trade since the 1990s, when he started out working with his father in Dallas–Fort Worth. We build decks we'd want to stand on ourselves.
We're insured and bonded, with a 5.0 rating on HomeAdvisor from 14 reviews.

Whether you're looking at peach orchards in Stonewall or the Guadalupe River near Ingram and Center Point, we build decks throughout:

Q: Should I repair my old deck or replace it? If the frame and posts are solid, replacing the boards and railings can give you a like-new deck for less. If the framing is rotted or the footings have moved, a rebuild is the safer choice. We'll show you what we find and let you decide.
Q: What decking material is best for Texas heat? Each option has trade-offs in cost, upkeep, and how hot it gets underfoot. We'll go over the options with you and point you to the one that fits how you'll use the deck.
Q: Do I need a permit for a new deck? It depends on where you live and the size and height of the deck. Rules differ between cities, the county, and HOAs. We'll sort out what applies to your property during the quote, and we take care of the permits.

“We chose Carter's Home Improvement to build a deck around our swim spa. The deck was difficult, L-Shaped and on a sloping grade. It had to be built around the spa and it had to link to the porch. Jeremy and his crew did an outstanding job. We couldn't be happier with his work and attention to detail. We would highly recommend him for any of your home needs.”
